Good evening,

Could anyone advise me on the following?

"payment term to be 100% cash against clean shipping documents with all banking charges outside Jordan to be at your account"

What banking charges can occur and how to estimate them?

Also what does "clean shipping docs" mean?

Any help will be gratefully received.

Collection D/P at sight

Hi Friend,

Normally remitting bank and collecting bank apply their charges to the customers. Charges are stipulated with the customers but sometime confidential tarif are sent to correspondent bank relating to the services a bank could offer to correspondents.

On collection, it is applied a collection charges, normally on the documents value with a limit, plus postages and Swift transfer, beware of sending draft or bill of exchange that could be bear a stamp duty too.

To have an idea of charges you can surf in internet, visit a website of international bank(Switzerland) and have a gross idea of the charges to be paid to collecting bank, outside Jordan

Ciao
