Hello everyone,

Need help, please..

1) Charter B/L issued "TO ORDER" and blank endorsed, then also stated at  last line that B/L must also show as shipper "COMPANY A (The buyer's name)".....what I should fill in the Shipper field, really? and is this risky?

2)  In additional condition stated that all docs except invoice must show shipper as "COMPANY A (The buyer's name)". However, packing list didn't bear the issuer name. In my understanding, this means my company as beneficiary must issue this Packing List....Is there any discrepancy using our company's head letter for the said doc, while putting  shipper name as "COMPANY A (The buyer's name)"?

I hope this is a back to back  L/C. In a back to back L/C,  the buyer is demanding to mention their address as  the shipper. Also, they are giving the clause as “third party documents are acceptable”.

In your case1) B/L need to prepare as per L/C clause. If the L/C is calling to mention buyers address in the shipper column. No harm on this. Because you are complying the L/C clause.

2) you have to mention separately as “shipper: buyers address” on all documents except invoice and packing list.  If the issuer of the packing list is silent, you can prepare the packing in a white paper also and put the stamp showing as “original”. I hope this way you can solve this problem.

Sorry I missed your problem in the first place

Are you sure the buyer shall  be the shipper? Not the seller?

You should either ask the issuing bank or give us more details. It looks a bit as if the issuing bank made a mistake.
