Dear all,
I want some clarification regarding date on the certificate. As we know any certificate should be signed, but the date requirement is one which not clear in ISBP. ISBP says that except draft, transport doc and insurance other cer need not be dated. Because most of the LC's call for a bene's cert stating,
1.we have inspected the goods and it is as per invoice
2. All non-copies of shipping docs have been sent to app after ship
which of the above cer's require date? or no requirement for date?
Certificates
Hi Prabhu Deva,
In your case none of the document required date.
as per ISBP A requirement that a dox, be dated will be depend upon the type of certification or declaration that has been requested, its required wording and the wording that appears within in. Whether other dox require dating will depend on the nature and content of the dox in question.
For eg: If LC called for a signed and dated bene certificate stating All non-copies of shipping docs have been sent to app after ship.
In this scenario, the document should be signed and dated.
Any other comments are highly appreciable.
Regards!!!!

Hi Friend,
UCP and ISBP are less fiscal than before to avoid a misuse of l/c, mean of payment and not a mean of no-payment. Those rules permit to ask for a date in any documents but consent that documents can be undated, but IMHO, being documents correlated if I ask a specific certificate that needs a date to be valid, it must be presented, dated.
Other comments appreciated
