It will be highly appreciable if you please comments:

1.  L/C shows under 39A, 10/10. But exporter request ""Please change "Tolerance 10% +/- on total Amount & Quantity".

 2. L/C shows under 46A, FULL SETS ORIGINAL CLEAN ON BOARD BILL OF LADING..... ....... But exporter request Please change "Shipped on Board Bill of Lading" in Place of  "Clean on Board bill of Lading" .

Now my question is,

1.  it is necessary to mention Tolerance 10% +/- on total Amount & Quantity in L/C body or 10/10 means Tolerance 10% +/- on total Amount & Quantity?

2.  What is the difference between CLEAN on board and SHIPPED on board.

Thanking you.

Agree with prem_kumaran.

However, with the effective difference being a replacement of "Clean" with "Shipped", perhaps the supplier wishes to present "dirty" B/Ls?    ;-)

Hi ,

1. Yes, you need to mention +/- 10% in the LC body, in field 45 A to indicate the tolerance allowed for goods. Field 39A is for LC amount only

2. No difference in the on board B/L , you can call it by any name .  Both are on board B/L'S here.

'Clean on board B/L does not state expressly state that B/L is clean. However it should not state declaring defective condition of either the goods or their packaging.(Article 27 of UCP)'
