Letter of Credit Forum

What is this ?

This is a site dealing with letters of credit (check out the introduction to letters of credit here) a payment vehicle commonly used in international trade finance.

The forum allows people to ask and answer question, the articles provide some background information, the front page blog tries to find relevant trends and material.

What to find where

Forums: discussions related to international Finance. Please see that we have different fora, and even though much of what is being written is educational, the education forum is meant to talk about certification or degrees that help in the job.

 Legal Norms: The UCP 500 and UCP 600 are copyrighted and hence cannot be published. The only reason I am allowed to publish the UCP 500 is that I comment them article by article and hence are covered by "fair use" of US copyright law. You will also find Swift Codes and the Incoterms.

Resources: is supposed to be a collection of links and tools, still needs some work though.

Articles: from gentle introductions to hardcore LC problems, a collection of material that goes beyond a forum post.

Sample Docs: Purchase contracts, shipping docs, bank agreements that reflect real life transactions.

Jobs: a collection of letter of credit jobs out there and an opportunity to post your resume (or for recruiters) to post jobs. Caution: you need a separate login to post your resume.  

News: All the news that deal with Letters of Credit.

Privacy Policy 

So far I have not even been able to figure out how to get to your emails. That might change though. I intend to mail you once a major upgrade to the site has been accomplished. I expect this to happen once a year.

Of course I am not going to sell, rent, etc. your email address.

Once I figure out how the system works, you can expect one email per year, rigth now the concern is to build better and more content.
