Hi,

The LC states Port of Discharge as Hai Phong Port, Vietnam

On the BL Port of Discharge is mentioned as HAIPHONG, ,VIETNAM (VNHPH

Shipping line says they cannot use the same terminology as mentioned in the LC as this data is generated by the system and not typed manually.

Will this be considered as discrepancy?

Also, what POD should we write in the invoice? The one mentioned in the LC or the one mentioned in the BL?

Awaiting replies.

Many thanks.

Port of discharge

Did I read the question correctly, i.e. is there any doubt that it is the same POD?

Either of "HAIPHONG, VIETNAM", or "Hai Phong Port, Vietnam" would be acceptable as the stated POD. Similarly, for the invoice.

The place is same. The only

The place is same. The only difference is that the term "Port" is missing from the BL. Anyway, thanks for your reply.

POD

If "HAIPHONG, VIETNAM" is stated in the Port of Discharge box on the marine B/L, even with the omission of the word "port", the document would be acceptable, as there can be no doubt that a "port" is being referred to.
