CPT to where?

Hello cmzrfdl;

Could you be more specific? CPT to ‘where’ – how is the ‘paid to’ point written? How is the cargo moving – if seafreight is it containerised etc? Are we talking about gasses, liquids or general merchandise?

As a general proposition, with merchandise, the loading and unloading costs required to get the cargo to the named place would be the seller’s – but NOT the final unloading at the named place – so any handing prior to the final place, but at that final place the cargo would still be on a truck (say) not unloaded. That final action would be the buyer’s.

However, this is conditional upon all of these charges being ‘normally’ incurred as part of the freight rate. Handling not normally included in the freight rate would be a cost the buyer has to bear.

But, if you need something more specific then you’ll have to post something more specific too – but I am sure an answer can be formulated if you do...

Cheers
