Issue of Bill of ladings

How are bill of ladings issued?

Is it per party i.e if lets say a party named x has 3 containers of cargo and y has 2 containers of cargo , in which case the carrier shall issue one b/l to x and one b/l to y.

dear  jinugu,

it depends how you are approching the main line operator. if u r using a freight forwarder, they you may get house bill of lading while the carrier will issue master BL to the FF. in that case FF is the shipper to carrier and consignee will be the FF's agent at the discharge port; nt your applicant. however if u demand master BL to your FF, then they will arrange accordingly. besides, u can go directly to the carrier or their agent and will get master BL.  hope that answer the questions
