Dear all,

I have a case regarding UCP600 art 14d.

Our lc required non negotiable/copy bill of lading to be presented.Port of discharge on LC stated Tanjung Perak,Surabaya. Then, the presented copy BL showed port of discharge Surabaya only without Tanjung Perak.

As per UCP600 art 14d,it is stated that data on docs don't have to be identical but not conflict with the data on docs itself, other presented docs and LC.

hence, could we consider the above data in conflict with data on LC or should we regard it as clean document because the copy BL has stated Surabaya?

I also want to ask whether the word conflict in ucp600 art 14d has the same meaning as incosistent?

I am looking forward to your resposnses.

Thanks a lot!!

Ports

Tanjung Perak is the only port in Surabaya, so tbe port of discharge shown on the B/L as Surabaya should not be viewed as a discrepancy nor a conflict with the LC terms.

Generally the words "conflict" and "inconsistent mean the same and are interchangeable

Dear abrar,

Thx for the answer, but if you said the docs were clean because there was only one port in surabaya, how about if there were two ports in one city?

Looking forward to your response.

Thx

Ports

Then,  of course the LC stipulated port would be required to be evidenced on the B/L
