Export Promotion Council

This will be out of subject as other than LC related.
Could anyone give me an idea about what is the benefit difference under  Engineering Export Promotion and Project Export Promotion ?  We are based in India.

hi starone,

engineering export promotion council would form one of the various export promotion bodies that operate to promote that particular domain. for examples, other councils are gems and jewellery export promotion council, sports and games export promotion council, handicrafts export promotion council. these are very akin to approved or quasi approved associations. for example, the gems and jewellery export promotion council might lay down some basic rules that would be applicable for import and subsequent export of say cut and polished diamonds.

project exports on the other hand would form a specific part of the ministry of finance decrees of handling export of large projects. the rbi too treats project exports as a separate domain under the fema guidelines. project exports define, direct and control the export of projects and project initiatives (including green field projects) covering the FDI and ODI propositions.

  • and that i am not able to comprehend your specific needs / requirements

an exports promotion council works to supplement the countries exports with their marketability and ease of delivery. they mean to provide the exporters with guidance and direction for their business. below is an extract of the project exports promotion council of india (PEPC) and their website http://www.projectexports.com/ gives more details.

"Project Exports Promotion Council of India (PEPC) is an export promotion council set up by the Government of India in 1984 (as Overseas Construction Council of India).
PEPC in line with the Foreign Trade Policy of the Government (of India) not only undertakes the necessary export promotion initiatives but also provides necessary technical information, guidance and support to Indian Civil and Engineering (EPC) construction including process engineering contractors and consultants – in public or private sector – to set up overseas projects in any of the following modules of engineering service:-
CIVIL CONSTRUCTION (STRUCTURES/INFRASTRUCTURE)
TURNKEY
PROCESS AND ENGINEERING CONSULTANCY SERVICES
PROJECT CONSTRUCTION ITEMS (EXCLUDING STEEL AND CEMENT) / PROJECT GOODS"
