I know my issue has been discussed before, but as I couldn't find the related page, I have to arise it again! Sorry!
Is it enough to indicate "On board 18 August" on a bill of lading?
Paragraph E7, ISBP 2013 is saying:
Terms such as "shipped in apparent good order", "Laden on board" "Clean on board" or other phrases that incorporate "shipped" or "on board" have the same effect as the words "shipped on board".
My interpretation is that one of the words such as "clean" or "shipped" or "laden" should be mentioned before "on board" and if BL solely brings e.g. "On board: 18 August" would not meet ISBP requirments!
Would you please let me know your comments on this?
Thanks,
Peyman
Hello Peyman
My reading of E7 of ISBP745E leads me to think that “on board” is good enough:
E7 in full reads: “...Terms such as “Shipped in apparent good order”, “Laden on board”, ”Clean on board” or other phrases that incorporate “shipped” or “on board”...” (my emphasis) “...have the same effect as the words “Shipped on board”...”
